If you're from planet earth, you're probably stuck in this weird situation where you're afraid of going out and bored of being in. You can't get a hold of time or date and you probably don't know which day it is.
And now that you checked it out, yep it's Sunday. The day you used to keep waiting for the whole week with a ton of plans, just to end up cancelling them at the very last moment, coz it's Sunday, let me atleast catch up on some sleep. And tomorrow is Monday, which used to give you anxiety from Sunday night itself. Enough of rejuvenating pre-lockdown days. Now let's address the elephant in the room.
After the lock down ends, two types of people will come out of their houses:
A. The winners
B. The procrastinators
Let's talk about the latter first. The procrastinator is someone who spent a whole two months laying on the sofa, being a couch potato, shoving in unhealthy snacks and binge watching. The procrastinator is YOU and ME.
On the contrary, the winner is someone who took this as an opportunity to learn new skills, get back in good shape and spend time with their family. The winner CAN be you and me. But for that we need to take actions. And that too now, not after 5 more minutes or one more hour and definitely not from the next day for sure. If you're reading this then you have an internet connection and a smart phone or PC or maybe both. Which is way more when you think about all those people who are going to sleep in an empty stomach, uncertain of what tomorrow holds for them.
Meet Peninah, a washerwoman from Kenya who boiled stones for her 8 children just to make them believe that she was cooking food and hoped for them to fall asleep while waiting for the food to be ready. Out of all the things in this world, her only concern is her eldest son who claims to know that she is just boiling stones and that there won't be any food today also.
Believe me when I'm saying that you're one of the luckiest ones. You may have lost your job or gone out of business or you maybe living away from your family and friends. Worst, you may have lost a loved one to the pandemic. Still, you're one of the luckiest ones. For you're certain you'll be there to see the sunrise tomorrow, unlike those who are sleeping on foot paths or railway tracks.
I, by no means, intend to send you on a guilt trip. I just want you to realize that while others are suffering out there, you've been given a golden opportunity that can turn your whole world around. And the best part is, this opportunity is for one and for all. Irrespective of where you come from or what your story is or where you want to end up in life, the world is giving you a chance to make all your dreams come true. And I wish for you to make the best out of it.
STAY HOME. STAY SAFE.
